"DUCK" Tamarind Sculpture
The natural form of a Tamarind tree trunk brings us to a bird shape ... maybe a duck !! We just cut and apply a wooden base.
It is a native wood of tropical Africa, is widely planted in other tropical regions of South America.
Tamarind wood is used to make furniture, sculptures, etc ...
The core of Tamarind is reddish brown, sometimes with a violet hue, tends to be narrow and is usually present only in older and larger trees. The pale yellow sapwood is strongly demarcated from the heartwood. Tamarind wood ranges from hard to very hard in terms of consistency and is also very resistant to insects.
Due to its density and interconnected grain, Tamarind is considered difficult to work with.
